Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah seeks feedback on a nickname

The Cleveland Browns, and their fans, can’t wait to see Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah on the field. For now, he’s seeking nickname feedback.

The Cleveland Browns have made a lot of changes to their roster this offseason which means a lot of new players and a lot to learn about those new players, both on and off the field.

One of the exciting new additions is the hybrid linebacker out of Notre Dame, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. The Browns were ecstatic to see Owusu-Koramoah falling down the board into the second round after he was an option for them at pick #26.

Instead, the Browns got a top corner prospect in Greg Newsome II and then made a small trade up to get Owusu-Koramoah in the second round.

There have been a variety of nicknames used for him including college teammates who called him “Wu” and coach Kevin Stefanski having “JOK” breakdown the group during Building of the Browns.

Owusu-Koramoah tweeted out another nickname by which fans have started calling him and wants your feedback:

Given his versatility, Owusu-Koramoah will likely fit a role that often goes by a variety of names. Some call it rover, some star, some hybrid and others call it the joker role.

Obviously, there could be plenty of references to the Batman series whether it is the Jared Leto, Joaquin Phoenix, Jack Nicholson, Cesar Romero or Heath Ledger version. The unpredictable, explosive nature of the Joker is one that can be embraced for a linebacker in the NFL.

Nicknames are fun but nicknames only matter for marketing, fan engagement, and overall excitement. None of that matters unless Owusu-Koramoah is producing on the field.

When that happens, will we be talking about a guy nicknamed”Wu,” “JOK,” or “the Joker” or something else?
