Jeopardy contestant makes crucial mistake with UNC-Duke rivalry

A contestant on Jeopardy made a crucial mistake on a question that involved UNC basketball’s biggest rival, Duke.

The UNC-Duke rivalry is considered among the best in collegiate sports, featuring a rich history of two programs that just don’t like each other. Even the casual sports fan knows the rivalry and what’s at stake when the two sides meet on the basketball court.

But on Thursday night’s episode of Jeopardy, one contestant had a cringe-worthy answer that has UNC and Duke fans talking.

The answer to the category question “Call yourself a fan” was “The ‘Cameron Crazies’ are students who show their undying support for this University’s Blue Devils Basketball Team.” Easy to get the question, right?

Well, for most of us yes but this contestant buzzed in and answered “What is UNC?”. WRONG! Check out the clip that is going viral below:

Look, we will give her the benefit of the doubt and MAYBE she just had UNC on her mind after the Tar Heels won the final two meetings between these two teams including at Duke and in the Final Four.

Either way, both sides of the rivalry can have a good laugh here before things get serious again in a few months.
