The Tennessee Titans and defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons have finally struck a deal, agreeing to a four-year extension worth $94 million, with $66 million guaranteed.
With the contract in place, Titans fans can breathe a huge sigh of relief, as things appeared to be going in a bad direction last month when Simmons removed all mention of the Titans from his social media.
However, that was but a bump in the road for these two sides, who will now be together for four more years in a deal that simply had to get done from Tennessee’s perspective.
Prior to the deal being announced, Simmons had a little fun with Titans fans, as his first tweet made it seem like he was gone. However, he followed that up with confirmation that a deal was indeed struck.
Titans Nation, thank you for the last 4 years! I am so grateful for you guys…..

I’m not even mad a little bit about Simmons having some fun here; I’m just happy Big Jeff is staying in the two-tone blue and we can stop worrying about losing one of the best defenders in the NFL.
