Jeff Lebby recaps Mississippi State’s loss at Tennessee

Mississippi State head coach Jeff Lebby recaps the Bulldogs’ loss at Tennessee in Week 11.

Mississippi State (2-8, 0-6 SEC) has two games remaining in Jeff Lebby’s first season as the Bulldogs’ head coach.

Mississippi State will have its second and final open date of the regular-season in Week 12 after suffering a, 33-14, loss at Tennessee on Saturday.

Lebby discussed the Bulldogs’ performance against Tennessee at Neyland Stadium.

“I think for us, it’s a missed opportunity because we end up on the wrong side of it, regardless of what was going on the other side,” Lebby said. “We had the ability to make some plays to give us the opportunity to go win a football game.

“Tennessee did an unbelievable job to continue to find ways to run the football there in the second half. That, for us, was where we could not find ways to create momentum and keep momentum on offense. That was the killer.”

Mississippi State will host Missouri on Nov. 23 and will travel to Ole Miss on Nov. 29 for the Egg Bowl to conclude regular-season play.
