Jedd Fisch continues his heavy emphasis on Washington’s NFL ties

Jedd Fisch continues to emphasize that the Huskies are among the best teams in the nation to prepare players for the professional level.

Ever since Jedd Fisch arrived at Washington, he has been relentless in selling high school prospects that the Huskies are among the best in the nation at preparing recruits for the next level. In an interview with On3’s Steve Wiltfong, he doubled down on his statement.

“I think that we have the most access to the NFL of any program in the country,” Fisch said. “We have the most relationships, we try to be identical to an NFL program in the way we practice, in the way we compete, in the way we talk to our guys, and the way we prepare them for the next level.”

The Huskies are currently ranked No. 8 in the nation with 46 alumni in the NFL after 10 members of the 2023 team heard their names called in April’s draft. Fisch, who has worked for seven NFL teams during his coaching career, brought defensive coordinator Steve Belichick and safeties coach Vinnie Sunseri from the professional ranks to hammer the point home even further.

“We have the privilege of having about 100 years of coaching experience at the next level,” Fisch said. “On top of that, I just think that being at Washington right now with the athletics and academics is the greatest place to be.”

Fisch has also received coaching input from one of his former employers, former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, and hosted a handful of current and former NFL coaches throughout spring practice. With NFL caliber schemes on both sides of the ball thanks to Fisch’s offense, which is heavily influenced by Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay, his coaching staff prepares its new team for the next level every day.

If the staff can continue to reel in high-end talent and continue to develop prospects like it did at Arizona, the Huskies could continue to place players in the NFL at a high rate.
