J.D. McKissic listed as starting RB on Washington’s depth chart

Many thought rookie Antonio Gibson would be the starting RB in Washington, but the first official depth chart lists J.D. Mckissic instead.

With all of the running back news that has taken place in Washington over the past few weeks, you’d think that we were all out of surprises. However, another one came on Tuesday morning, with Washington listing J.D. McKissic as the starting back on their first depth chart of the season.

This comes as a surprise mainly because many expected rookie RB Antonio Gibson to take over as the lead back once veteran RB Adrian Peterson was released from the team last week. This of course doesn’t mean that Gibson won’t get a big share of the workload, but it does show the confidence that the team has in McKissic, who has had a great training camp thus far.

We will see how long it takes for Gibson to take the reigns in Washington, but for now it appears that McKissic is the guy for Week 1.
