During the Golden State Warriors’ 39-point defeat to the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas Day, James Wiseman served as a lone bright spot for the second consecutive game.
After scoring 19 points in his professional debut on Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets, the 2020 No. 2 overall pick impressed again against the Bucks.
With back-to-back exciting performances on Wiseman’s resume, the league is beginning to take notice. After the Memphis product notched 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field with two triples, four rebounds and two blocks in 12 minutes, Donovan Mitchell took note.
During halftime of the Christmas day tilt between the Warriors and Bucks, the Utah Jazz All-Star guard shared a tweet calling Wiseman “tough.”

Wiseman finished the game with 18 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field with eight rebounds and three blocks in 25 minutes. For the second consecutive game, the 19-year-old showed his ability to step out from beyond the arc, hitting three 3-pointers on four attempts.
Mitchell won’t have to wait long to see the talented rookie in action. The Warriors travel to Utah for a tilt against the Jazz on Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. PST.
