Jayson Tatum’s historic 60-point night vs. Spurs, tying Larry Bird’s franchise record

Watch the historic performance for yourself.

It was a night for the ages for All-NBA small forward Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics both. The St. Louis native reached the highest of heights when it comes to the franchise scoring record of 60 points, set by iconic Celtic forward Larry Bird in 1985. Tatum tied it against the San Antonio Spurs in the best offensive game of his career.

Almost every one of those points was needed to put away the pesky Spurs 143-140 in overtime. The Duke alum also logged a total of 8 rebounds, 5 assists and a block with no turnovers and 2 personal fouls in 45 minutes of game time.

Tatum shot a red-hot 20-of-37 overall and 5-of-7 from deep, as well as 15-of-17 from the free throw line in his historic outing.

Watch the momentous performance for yourself in the video embedded above — it’s one for the record books, before your very eyes.
