Jayson Tatum leads Celtics over Russell Westbrook, Wizards

Jayson Tatum scored 50 points in the play-in game to lead the Celtics over the Wizards and former Thunder PG Russell Westbrook.

In the Eastern Conference play-in game between the seventh and eighth seeds, Russell Westbrook and the Washington Wizards lost to the Boston Celtics 118-110.

Jayson Tatum put up an absolute monster performance, scoring 50 points, including 23 in a third quarter that broke the game open.

Westbrook scored 20 points and had 14 assists to go with five rebounds in the loss.

The former Oklahoma City Thunder star will have one more chance to lead the Wizards to a playoff appearance. Washington will work to clinch a spot on Thursday they take on the Indiana Pacers.

The No. 9 Pacers took down the No. 10 Charlotte Hornets 144-117 as eight Indiana players scored double-digit points.

Both the Wizards and Pacers finished the regular season with a record of 34-38.

The winner of the game will take on the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Central Time. The game will be aired on ESPN.
