It was just a year ago when NBA players were required to be measured by a team doctor and without wearing shoes, which led to some stars (Kevin Durant, Kemba Walker and Bradley Beal were among them) to officially either grow or shrink.
Jayson Tatum wasn’t in that group, but heading into the 2020-21 season, he apparently shot up two inches, going from 6-foot-8 to 6-foot-10. That’s according to head coach Brad Stevens.
Now, this is very possible. He’s only 22 years old, and may have still be growing. But he still got some grief from Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell on Twitter:
Bruh why are we lying like this @jaytatum0 😂😂😂😂 https://t.co/oNyO0VKcZa

Bro this my 4th year being “19” I’m still growing 🤣🤣

Tatum’s teammate Jaylen Brown had fun with it:
My bro really 6’11 https://t.co/6qnEifDlUg

When Tatum continues to take steps forward as a superstar and uses his new height to his advantage, it won’t be funny to opponents.
