Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving is currently suspended indefinitely by his team and will be meeting with NBA commissioner Adam Silver in the wake of Irving’s promotion of an antisemitic film.
The Nets have reportedly laid out a plan for Irving to eventually return to the team, but are requiring Irving to attend sensitivity training and meet with Jewish leaders, among other conditions.
Boston’s Jaylen Brown, a vice president of the National Basketball Players Association, spoke out about the Nets’ terms of Irving’s return on Monday.
As reported by Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, Brown says he expects the NBPA to appeal the suspension and said that a “lot” of players were uncomfortable with the Nets’ terms for Irving’s return.
"I'm expecting the NBPA to appeal the suspension from Brooklyn. The terms, etc., that went into his return. The terms for his return, they seem like a lot, and a lot of the players expressed discomfort with the terms."
