Jayden Daniels won Rookie of the Week again and Bears fans are outraged

Bears fans aren’t happy that Jayden Daniels is the Rookie of the Week — again.

For the fifth time in six weeks, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is the NFL’s Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week. Daniels earned the award after his performance in Washington’s 30-23 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6.

Daniels completed 24 of 35 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns. Daniels, the No. 2 overall pick, beat out Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, the No. 1 overall pick. Williams passes for 226 yards, with four touchdowns and an interception vs. the Jaguars last week.

With Daniels winning the award again, Chicago fans weren’t happy, and many took to X—formerly Twitter—to share their opinions. It should be noted that Daniels also won the September NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month award.

The outrage toward Daniels winning a “meaningless” award is interesting since coaches, former coaches, players, and analysts from around the NFL award have continuously praised Daniels for his play and for where he’s headed in the future.

There’s more.

It doesn’t end there, but you get the point. Perhaps everyone should take a week or two off from praising Daniels and send some Chicago’s way.

Regardless of how well Daniels has played all season and Williams has played recently, both have a bright future. Can’t Bears fans, like Washington, just be happy they finally found a franchise quarterback?
