Jayden Daniels Watch: How Commanders QB fared on Day 1 of training camp

Day 1 of training camp was a good one for Jayden Daniels.

Jayden Daniels made his long-awaited debut as the quarterback of the Washington Commanders during Wednesday’s opening of training camp. Sure, Daniels was with the Commanders in the spring, but with all of the hype surrounding him this offseason, fans couldn’t wait to see their new franchise quarterback in camp.

The Commanders opened training camp with some red zone work. Daniels, who has yet to be named the starting quarterback, split reps with veteran Marcus Mariota. Head coach Dan Quinn said on Tuesday that he was in no rush to name Daniels the starter.

“When he is ready, we’ll know,” Quinn said. “When he’s ready, he’ll also know.”

During Wednesday’s practice, Daniels certainly looked the part, throwing touchdown passes to Kazmeir Allen and Brian Robinson Jr.

Here’s the touchdown pass to Robinson.

Zach Selby of commanders.com summed up Daniels’ performance:

Scott Abraham of ABC 7 in Washington, D.C., gave us “the best 73 seconds of your day.”
