Throughout his record-breaking 2023 campaign, [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag]’ draft stock continued to skyrocket.
After four years of mixed reviews, Daniels turned himself into a consensus first-rounder, racking up over 1,000 rushing yards while also throwing the best deep ball in the country.
With the NFL regular season coming to a close, the top of the draft is set in stone. The order appears to benefit Daniels.
The Bears, Commanders and Patriots occupy the top three picks, and all could be looking for a quarterback come draft day. That’s good news for Daniels, who has separated himself as QB3 with Caleb Williams and Drake Maye remaining in pole position.
If Williams and Maye go one and two, that leaves Daniels sitting at three. He’d suddenly be the best quarterback on the board just three picks into the draft. And considering there could be a sizeable drop-off between Daniels at QB3 and whoever ends up at QB4, that’s a great spot for Daniels to be in.
ESPN’s Jordan Reid has Daniels at No. 3 in his latest mock. So does Jason McIntyre of Fox Sports.
This is a rise from where Daniels was even a month ago, where mocks had him somewhere in between five and 20. As draft season progresses, Daniels could become a consensus top-five pick.
