Jayden Daniels’ OT touchdown pass puts Commanders, Rams in playoffs

Washington Commanders with another cardiac win, this one over the Falcons

Jayden Daniels is the captain of the Cardiac Commanders.

The rookie quarterback put the Washington Commnaders in the playoffs on Sunday with a touchdown pass to Zach Ertz in overtime. The throw from the rookie to the vetertain tight end gave Washington its 11th victory, 30-24, and a spot in the NFC playoffs.

It was a wild game like some many have been in Daniels’ first season. The second overall pick led the game-winning drive that saw Washington win the coin toss after Atlanta called it incorrectly.

The Commanders got the ball and never let the Falcons touch it. The drive covered 12 plays and 70 yards over 7:18.

The Falcons had a chance to win it at the end of regulation but Riley Patterson’s 56-yard field goal was on line but short.

Tampa Bay now controls the path to the NFC South title. The Falcons would need Tampa Bay to lose or tie with Atlanta winning to make the postseason.
