Jayden Daniels goes 2nd overall in new NFL.com mock draft

The NFL continues to be high on LSU’s star offensive trio.

The 2024 NFL draft is quickly approaching, and NFL.com has released a new mock draft, this time from Charles Davis.

While most expected earlier in the process that [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag] would be the third quarterback taken, there’s a growing sentiment that he could go second overall after Caleb Williams.

That’s what Davis projects, sending him to the Washington Commanders with pick No. 2.

“We all seem very confident the Commanders will select a quarterback here,” Davis wrote. “New head coach Dan Quinn’s defensive background might tilt the pick to Daniels, the best dual-threat QB in the draft. His ability to make plays with his arm and legs drives DCs crazy.”

Nabers also sneaks into the top 10 of Davis’ mock, going to the Chicago Bears at No. 9 where he’d join Williams.

Bears fans are in heaven! GM Ryan Poles delivers Caleb Williams at No. 1 overall and then picks Nabers, who plays with sustained intensity and says he’s the best WR in the draft. Bear down!

Finally, the star of the NFL combine — [autotag]Brian Thomas Jr.[/autotag] — joins a Jacksonville Jaguars team at No. 17 that suddenly looks to be greatly in need of a receiver as Calvin Ridley is set to hit free agency.

When I watch Thomas play, I always come away feeling impressed and believing there’s even more there for the NFL to tap into. The Jags give more help to QB Trevor Lawrence.

We’re still a month away from finding out where these players land, but it’s clear the league continues to be high on LSU’s star offensive trio.
