Jayden Daniels earns national Quarterback of the Week recognition following Ole Miss performance

Daniels picked up a national accolade after his big game against the Rebels.

LSU quarterback [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag] was named the Davey O’Brien Quarterback of the Week along with Oregon quarterback Bo Nix.

Daniels went 21 of 28 for 248 yards and a pair of passing touchdowns in the Tigers 45-20 win over No. 7 Ole Miss. The Arizona State transfer also added three more scores on the ground with 23 carries for 121 yards.

Daniels now has 21 total touchdowns on the year (including 11 in the past two games) and leads the team in rushing with 524 yards.

Over the last two weeks, Daniels has enjoyed one of the best stretches of his career, considering both his tenures in Tempe and Baton Rouge. With Daniels at quarterback, the offense has scored 90 points in its last two contests, scoring 45 against Florida and Ole Miss.

LSU has a bye ahead of a crucial matchup against Alabama and will hope Daniels can keep this level of play up in a game that could decide the SEC West.
