Former LSU football quarterback Jayden Daniels did it again. On Sunday, he led the Commanders down the field to beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the final seconds.
With six seconds left, Daniels found Jamison Crowder to put Washington in front, 36-33. It was Daniels’ fifth touchdown of the day.
Daniels did it all on Sunday. He threw for 257 yards and ran for five more.
The Eagles got out to a 14-0 lead and later led 21-7. Washington cut into the lead, but the Eagles put it back at two possessions, going up 27-14. Daniels came up big all day. As the third quarter was coming to a close, Daniels scrambled for a key first down on 4th and 11.
This wasn’t the first time we saw last-second heroics from Jayden Daniels. Earlier this season against the Chicago Bears, Daniels tossed a game-winning hail mary.
After starting the season red-hot, Daniels cooled off in November as he dealt with an injury. Now, Washington is back on a roll, picking up its 10th win and remaining in control of a wild card spot.
The win should help Daniels coast to the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.
