Javian McCollum named a top 5 transfer by On3

So far, the Sooners appear to have knocked the portal out of the park in Year 3 under Porter Moser.

The Oklahoma Sooners are off to the best start since the 2015-2016 season when they went to the [autotag]Final Four[/autotag]. They have moved all the way up to No. 12 in the country and are currently projected for a four-seed in the latest Bracketology.

With a win on Saturday and some help in the polls, they could potentially be a top-10 team next week. A big part of that is due to the work they’ve done in the transfer portal. Leading the way from their portal additions is [autotag]Javian McCollum[/autotag].

McCollum has been great for the Sooners this season. So good he’s been named a top-five transfer portal addition by On3.

Oklahoma currently sits at 9-0 and has shot all the way up to No. 11 in the A.P. Poll. In the Sooners’ last five games, they have played Providence, Arkansas, USC, and Iowa. In those five games, Javian McCollum has averaged 17.2 points and 3.8 assists per game while the 6-foot-2 guard has shot 39.4 percent from three. Next on the schedule for Oklahoma is Green Bay before a matchup with UNC on Dec. 20. – Jamie Shaw

The Sooners hope to continue their hot play as the conference slate is just around the corner. This start has given Oklahoma a chance to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in the [autotag]Porter Moser[/autotag] era.

The Sooners are back in action in Norman on Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
