JaVale McGee captures intimate moment between LeBron James and Larry O’Brien trophy

Los Angeles Lakers center JaVale McGee and his Bubble blog captured the moment when LeBron James first reunited with the NBA Championship.

For those of us who loved watching the NBA Bubble and following all that was going on along the shores of Lake Buena Vista, JaVale McGee’s YouTube channel has been an incredible source for behind the scenes access. That didn’t stop during the Lakers’ title celebration, which went well into the early morning on Monday night after Sunday evening’s Game 6 victory to close out the Miami Heat.

Among the great behind the scenes moments that McGee captured in the celebration, perhaps the best moment was LeBron James having a conversation after reuniting with the Larry O’Brien championship trophy. James joked in front of his teammates that the trophy had cheated on him for the past four years but is now finally coming back home.

James had been to the NBA Finals three times in between championships, losing in the 2017 and 2018 Finals before returning to the Finals this season to win the 2020 NBA Championship. Shout out to JaVale McGee and his team for helping bring this moment to the world.
