Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett opened up a real can of worms in his appeal hearing this week. Garrett alleged in his appeal that the reason for the brawl at the end of last week’s game was that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph used a racial slur. Fox Sports’ Jason Whitlock doesn’t belive Rudolph said anything and feels like this is Garrett’s way to trying to drag down Rudolph with him.

Whitlock smartly points out that if Garrett doesn’t swing Rudolph’s helmet, despite anything anyone else did, he’d still be playing football this season and none of this would have happened. Whitlock went so far to say that even if Rudolph said something, Garrett should have swallowed it down and accepted responsibility for what he did wrong.

Whitlock also makes it clear regardless of whether or not Rudolph said a racial slur to Garrett, the court of public opinion has found him guilty.
