Larian Studios revealed a new villain in Baldur’s Gate 3, and Jason Isaacs is voicing him in the RPG. Isaacs’ character is Enver Gortash, a scheming politician who uses his role as a leader of steel soldiers to gain influence over the citizens of Baldur’s Gate.
Gortash’s position is legitimate. He’s inducted into office by a government who believes he’ll actually help protect the city from internal and external threats – and they couldn’t be more wrong. Gortash makes no secret of his ambition in some handy monologues. And from the sound of it, he doesn’t exactly have their best interests at heart.
What that has to do with you is another matter, though. Larian showed plenty of Gortash footage with Jason Isaacs voiceovers, but we didn’t actually see any gameplay or new looks at what to expect from the full game.
While Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t be launching on Xbox anytime soon, it’s still on track for release on PC and PS5 on August 31, 2023. The team is hoping to launch an Xbox version, though after running into multiple problems getting the co-op experience running correctly on Microsoft’s console, they opted not to say whether it’ll be coming at all.
