BUFFALO — Jason Croom did not make the 53-man active roster for the Buffalo Bills, but his days are not finished in the NFL just yet.

Croom, a tight end and former University of Tennessee football player, was one of 17 players assigned to the Bills’ practice squad.

One player, however, must be cut from there, as teams are allowed 16 players on the practice squad.

Croom spent the entire season on injured reserve for the Bills last year.

He joined Buffalo as an undrafted free agent in 2017, but was cut, placed on injured reserve and cut again before finding a spot on the practice squad.

Croom made his NFL debut in 2018 against the Baltimore Ravens. There, he had two receptions for 18 yards.

He finished his rookie season with 22 receptions for 259 yards and a touchdown.
