Jared Goff on quarantine weight gain: ‘I don’t know if that’s muscle or a couple of cheeseburgers’

Jared Goff put on some quarantine weight.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff made an admission about his life in quarantine: he gained a few pounds.

Amid the outbreak of COVID-19, Los Angeles made a concerted effort toward shutting down for an extended period, with the city announcing a three-month stay-at-home order in May. The NFL also shut down all of the team meetings during the offseason, with organized team activities and minicamp getting cancelled. That has left Goff to his own devices. And perhaps he’s snuck in a cheat meal on more occasions that he would in a non-pandemic scenario. It happens.

Here’s what he said on a conference call, via Rams Wire:

“I may have put on a couple of pounds. I don’t know if that’s muscle or a couple of cheeseburgers, I’m not sure. But I feel good. … I feel good putting in a lot of work this offseason. I had a lot of time. I had a lot of time to really reflect and figure out what you want to get better at and really focus on what you want to get better at. We had the whole offseason. So, hopefully we come out this year and put the right foot forward.”

Totally fair.

The quarantine lifestyle, at least for me, has involved plenty of cheeseburgers and Netflix binges.
