Lions QB Jared Goff declared probable for Week 18 by Detroit head coach Dan Campbell

Lions fans hoping to see Jared Goff back at quarterback for the Week 18 finale against the Green Bay Packers got some good news on Friday. Detroit head coach Dan Campbell declared Goff probable to play in Ford Field on Sunday.

“I think we’ll see Goff this weekend,” Campbell stated in his press conference prior to Friday’s practice session.

Goff has missed the last two games while dealing with a knee injury suffered in the Lions’ 30-12 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He was also on the reserve/COVID-19 list for the Week 15 game against Atlanta. Tim Boyle played in Goff’s absence.

The veteran was playing his best football in Detroit prior to the injury. In his last five games — a period that coincides with Campbell taking over the offensive playcalling — Goff completed 105-of-156 passes, throwing nine touchdowns against just two INTs. He attempted more passes beyond 15 yards down the field in his final four starts than he had in the entire nine prior starts.
