Jared Goff and Andrew Whitworth each donate $250K to L.A. food bank

Jared Goff and Andrew Whitworth are helping those in the local community by funding 2 million meals for the food bank.

Andrew Whitworth and Jared Goff are doing what they can to help those in need during this trying time as the country battles the coronavirus. The Rams announced on Thursday that Goff and Whitworth are each donating $250,000 to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

Each donation will help fund 1 million meals for the local community, helping people who can’t afford meals right now amidst the coronavirus outbreak.

“There are so many people in need right now and we want to do everything we can to help our Los Angeles community,” Goff said in a statement. “My hope is that we can inspire others to support organizations like the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and United Way’s Pandemic Relief Fund as we come together to face this crisis.”

Whitworth, who just agreed to a new three-year deal with the Rams on Wednesday, has been a strong voice and helpful figure in the Los Angeles community, being the team’s nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award in each of the last two years.

“Tough times, like what we’re experiencing now, really show you the true value and importance of community,” Whitworth said. “We’re here to wrap our arms around our hurting neighbors, let them know that they aren’t forgotten, and that we are here for them.”
