Ever since Kyrie Irving expressed the Brooklyn Nets needed a piece or two to complete the team, there’s been doubt about what that exactly meant. Throughout the NBA’s hiatus, the line of thinking has evolved into: the Nets need a third star.
In order to get a third star, the Nets would have to move an important piece — that could mean Caris LeVert or Spencer Dinwiddie. Although, since the start of 2019-20 Dinwiddie has expressed LeVert is Brooklyn’s third star.
And Dinwiddie’s former Nets teammate Jared Dudley thinks LeVert fills that role well, too. Dudley also thinks Dinwiddie might be Brooklyn’s third star. He explained why on Twitter on Thursday:
Caris would [have] been an All-Star if not for his injury last season and Spencer was on the verge this season. Don’t need to force a 3rd Star. First see how everybody plays with [Kevin Durant] and Kyrie before making any decisions.
But which of Dudley’s old teammates will be Brooklyn’s No. 3 of the future?
