Opening day for No. 2 Tennessee is Friday.
The Vols will play in the 2023 MLB Desert Invitational in Arizona Feb. 17-19. The MLB Desert Invitational field will consist of Tennessee, Arizona, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Michigan State and San Diego.
Tennessee will play Arizona on Friday at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, Arizona. First pitch between the Vols and Wildcats is slated for 8 p.m. EST. MLB Network will televise the season-opening game.
Catcher Jared Dickey returns to Tennessee in 2023. Following the season, Dickey is slated to play for the Cotuit Kettleers in the Cape Cod Baseball League .
