James Harden will not play vs. Wizards

The Brooklyn Nets get Kevin Durant back on Sunday, but James Harden will not be available for Steve Nash.

Sunday will mark the first time the Brooklyn Nets’ starting lineup has not featured James Harden since the team acquired the star guard in exchange for Caris LeVert, Rodions Kurucs, Jarrett Allen, Taurean Prince and a bevy of picks and pick swaps. Through his first games with the Nets, Harden is averaging 24.3 points per game on 48.4% shooting (40% from 3-point territory), along with 11.8 assists and 7.8 rebounds while playing 39.9 minutes a night.

The Nets do, however, have Kevin Durant back after the forward sat out Friday night’s game to rest his surgically repaired right Achilles. This will be the first time Durant and Kyrie Irving have performed as a duo since the Nets last faced the Washington Wizards, which was back on Jan. 3. Brooklyn lost that meeting at Barclays Center 123-122, despite Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant both having chances to win the game late.
