Rockets star James Harden and his family invited a group of children from under-served families on a holiday shopping experience Tuesday at the Target store in Pearland, Texas, located just outside Houston.
Harden, along with his mother, Monja Willis, and his siblings, have organized this event in all eight of his seasons with the Rockets.
The team has a four-game West Coast road trip starting with Thursday’s game at the Los Angeles Clippers and culminating with a Christmas Day matchup at Golden State. Thus, these are the final days before Dec. 25 for Rockets players and coaches to physically be in Houston.

Russell Westbrook and Clint Capela held their own holiday events for charity earlier in the week, as did Danuel House Jr. and Gerald Green.
Tuesday was a total off day for Harden and the Rockets (18-9), who return to practice Wednesday morning in Houston before flying to Los Angeles in the afternoon to get ready for Thursday night’s game.
Coming off Monday’s historic come-from-behind home win over the San Antonio Spurs, the team’s next game at Toyota Center isn’t until Saturday, Dec. 28, when the Rockets host the Brooklyn Nets.
