James Harden responds to allegations of COVID protocol breach

“No matter how many times people try to drag my name under, you can’t,” Harden wrote on Instagram. “The real always end on top.”

Houston Rockets star James Harden responded on Instagram to reports of his alleged breach of the NBA’s new COVID-19 protocols. If Harden is confirmed to have broken the league’s rules, he could be forced to miss Wednesday night’s regular-season opener at Toyota Center.

Harden denied that the event was at a strip club, as it had been reported on Twitter by ESPN’s Tim MacMahon. Harden was shown interacting in a viral video on social media. Here’s the rest of his message:

One thing after another. I went to show love to my homegirl at her event (not a strip club). Because she is becoming a boss, and putting her people in positions of success, and now it’s a problem.

Every day it’s something different. No matter how many times people try to drag my name under, you can’t. The real always end on top.

As of midday Wednesday, the NBA had yet to rule on Harden’s situation and whether it would force him to miss any games.
