Prior to Brooklyn’s 149-146 loss to the Washington Wizards, Steve Nash addressed James Harden missing the Nets’ game on Sunday due to a left thigh contusion.
“Yeah, I don’t think it’s too severe,” Brooklyn’s head coach said on a Zoom call with reporters before Sunday’s game. “I think it’s pretty manageable, but just a precautionary measure not to get it banged again and make it severe. So, I don’t remember exactly when it happened. But hopefully, it’s just this game.”
Turns out, all Harden needed was the extra day of rest to get right. He has been removed from the team’s status report ahead of Brooklyn’s return to Barclays Center on Tuesday, where they will play host to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Iman Shumpert is not available for the Nets yet, and both Nic Claxton (right knee tendinopathy) and Spencer Dinwiddie (ACL surgery) remain unavailable.
