James Harden reacts to passing Allen Iverson in scoring in win over Grizzlies

Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden reacts to passing Allen Iverson on the all-time scoring list in a win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

PHILADELPHIA–Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden has accomplished a ton in his NBA career. He has an MVP award on his resume, three scoring titles, and he has been an All-Star 10 times in his career.

In Thursday’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies, Harden secured another accomplishment when he passed Sixers legend Allen Iverson on the scoring list. The Beard had 31 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists in the 110-105 win.

“The Answer,” Harden pondered. “I don’t know, man. Just being in the NBA was a far-fetched dream, but now, when you tell me things like that, it’s just like I don’t know. I don’t know what to say.”

Iverson is one of the sports icons in Philadelphia. Not just for the Sixers, but for the city as a whole. When one thinks of Philadelphia sports, Iverson is a name that will continuously pop up.

“Obviously, we know how important AI was to this league,” Harden added. “Obviously, to the city of Philly, but the culture. The game of basketball itself. I’m just happy to be in the same conversation as him. I got a long way to go.”

Harden and the Sixers will look to keep things going in a positive direction when they play host to the Boston Celtics on Saturday.
