James Harden, Nets make statement with West Coast trip finale

The Brooklyn Nets went out West and flat out took care of business, capping things off with a win against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Brooklyn Nets started their five-game West Coast trip with Kevin Durant’s return from his second quarantine of the season and a win over the Golden State Warriors. Then the Nets lost Durant for the next four games to a hamstring injury. Kyrie Irving also missed a game, but Brooklyn still pulled off a perfect 5-0 road trip out West after a 112-108 win on Sunday — the longest trip without a loss in franchise history.

James Harden capped his strong stretch with a whopping 37 points against Kawhi Leonard and company, logging yet another double-double. Brooklyn’s point guard also grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out seven assists in his 41 minutes of action.

It goes without saying, the Nets don’t pull off the 5-0 run without Harden. With the bench starting to come together, Brooklyn’s blockbuster trade looked better than ever in this trip.

DeAndre Jordan also had a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Kyrie Irving finished second in scoring for the Nets with 28 points while Bruce Brown (13) and Joe Harris (13) also finished in double figures.

Brooklyn has momentum, and Durant isn’t event playing right now.
