Relative to the rate at which he started his Brooklyn Nets career, it had been a while since James Harden had his last triple-double. Going into Monday, Harden had not logged a triple-double in just under two weeks. Of course, that’s not a long time at all — but Harden is also the same player who had four triple-doubles in his first nine games as a Net.
Harden followed up his big-time 16-assist performance against the Golden State Warriors with his first triple-double since Feb. 2. Brooklyn’s point guard went off for 29 points on 10-for-18 shooting (6-for-10 from 3-point territory), 14 assists and 13 rebounds.
By eclipsing the 20-point mark as part of his triple-double effort, Harden has now registered more 20-point triple-doubles (five) in his first 15 games as a Net than any other player has recorded in a single season in franchise history.
