The Arizona Cardinals are preparing to go without running back James Conner. Head coach Jonathan Gannon, when he spoke to reporters on Monday, said the team was “sorting through” the situation.
But when he appeared on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, Gannon said, “it looks like a little bit of time” that Conner will miss.
Gannon also noted that “James will be back at some point,” suggesting that perhaps it was serious enough that he would need to land on injured reserve.
In the meantime, the Cardinals added Tony Jones via waivers and Gannon likes his young duo of Emaro Demercado and Keaontay Ingram. They also added veteran Damien Williams last week to the practice squad.
The Cardinals’ first injury report of the week will be Wednesday. We will see if Conner is able to participate in practice at all.
