On the heels of former Steelers running back James Conner visiting the Arizona Cardinals, the team is preparing to sign the back to a contract.
Per Fox NFL Sunday analyst Jay Glazer, the Cardinals are signing Conner to a one-year contract.
ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler noted that Conner had the best season of his career in 2018 under running backs coach James Saxon, who is now coaching in the desert.
Conner ran for 973 yards and 13 all-purpose touchdowns while adding 497 receiving yards.
For his career in Pittsburgh, Conner contributed 2,302 yards on the ground, 963 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns.
Unfortunately, Conner never proved to be the bell cow running back Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin always wanted. We’ll see what Conner is able to pull off in Arizona.
