The Cincinnati Bengals finalized their 2021 draft class this week by getting two more draft picks under contract, meaning all 10 have deals before training camp.
One of those was first-round pick Ja’Marr Chase.
Chase has flown a bit under the proverbial radar since being drafted — most everything does compared to the headline item that is Joe Burrow’s comeback.
But tucked behind the big headline announcement this week are the details behind Chase’s contract. According to Spotrac, it’s a four-year deal worth $30.8 million, plus a $19.7 million signing bonus. The cap hit this year is a mere $5.6 million.
That contract, plus a fifth-year option, makes Chase an immense value if he even comes close to producing like the Bengals think he can after reuniting him with Burrow.
Ja’Marr Chase has now signed his 4 year, $30.8M fully guaranteed contract with the #Bengals, including a $19.7M signing bonus; $5.6M 2021 cap hit.
Chase, Tyler Boyd, & Tee Higgins account for just $17.3M of cap this season.https://t.co/ggjvjMZ69p
