Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase wants his connection with quarterback Joe Burrow to be the NFL’s best.
Chase and Burrow are pretty far up the list already statistically and otherwise, though the fifth-overall pick did point out the Green Bay Packers connection of Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams as competition.
Speaking with the media on Wednesday, Chase said the following on this topic, according to ESPN’s Ben Baby: “I think we can better than Davante Adams and Mr. A-Rod.”
Over seven games, Adams has firmly established himself as the NFL’s best wideout, tallying 744 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 14.3 yards per catch. Chase over eight games has 786 yards and seven touchdowns on a 20.7 average.
While Chase will have to consistently produce after a regression that seems inevitable, he’s well on track to having him and Burrow mentioned alongside the current greats in the league.
Both Chase and Burrow will get to further their arguments this weekend against the Cleveland Browns.
