Ja’Marr Chase goes viral: ‘We just lost to some elves’

Ja’Marr Chase is not happy about the loss to the Browns.

Before his team’s 24-3 drubbing in the rain at the hands of the Cleveland Browns in the season opener, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase went viral for a “Cleveland is Cleveland” comment that included mocking the in-state rival’s elf mascot.

For now, Brownie the Elf and the Browns get the last laugh.

Chase appears to know that, expressing his frustration after the loss.

“It’s frustrating because I called they ass elves and we just lost to some elves,” Chase said during an interview with WLWT’s Olivia Ray. “So I’m pissed on my part, I’m pissed on that end.”

Chase had been joking around with the pre-game trash talk, though Browns players like Myles Garrett did end up taking it as bulletin board material.

His post-game interview stressed self-accountability, but the reactions to his doubling-down on the “elf” theme went viral, with many of them hilarious.
