Looks as if Oklahoma will be without one of its young rising defensive lineman.

As the Sooners took the field for warmups ahead of its in-state rivalry matchup with Oklahoma State, redshirt freshman defensive end Jalen Redmond is not on the field with the team.

Redmond, a Midwest City, Oklahoma, native, made his second career start against TCU a week ago. He has 16 total tackles on the season, which includes seven tackles for loss and four sacks.

It was unclear if he was going to start tonight.

With Redmond out, JUCO transfer LaRon Stokes Jr. will have to step in and start. He has made 12 total tackles on the season, which includes 4.5 tackles for loss and half a sack. True freshman Kori Roberson has also played at the same position.

Redmond’s status is unknown as no announcement from Oklahoma football has been made.

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State will kickoff at Bedlam at 7 p.m. CT on FOX.
