Jalen Ramsey says Gallup’s offensive pass interference was ‘clear as day’

Jalen Ramsey left no doubt about the controversial flag at the end of Sunday’s game.

Sunday night’s game between the Rams and Cowboys didn’t end without controversy. On third-and-10 with the Cowboys down three points and the clock ticking down, Dak Prescott took a shot deep to Michael Gallup with Jalen Ramsey in coverage.

The pass was completed for a 47-yard gain to the Rams 19-yard line, but a flag came in after the play. Gallup was called for offensive pass interference, pushing off Ramsey to create enough separation to make the catch.

The Rams held strong on the ensuing two plays, winning 20-17. No one was closer to the play than Ramsey, and he says the penalty was “clear as day.”

Here’s a clip of the play, which shows Gallup’s extension. It wasn’t an egregious push-off, but Ramsey did a good job selling it to draw the flag.

The Rams should’ve put the Cowboys away much earlier than on this play, but their red zone issues prevented them from sealing the win prior to this point.

Ramsey was solid all game long, but he benefited from this one being called back. Otherwise, it would’ve put a damper on an otherwise solid performance.
