Jalen Ramsey is house hunting in L.A. but doesn’t have ‘Calabasas money yet’

Jalen Ramsey is looking for houses in the L.A. area, which could be a good sign for his contract situation.

Jalen Ramsey showed some frustration on a recent conference call with reporters after he was pressed with questions about his contract situation. He even walked off the videoconference briefly before returning to say that he’s letting his agent handle it.

In fact, Ramsey doesn’t want to hear anything about the negotiations from his agent until the deal is done.

Both he and the Rams have remained tight-lipped on the negotiations, which have been ongoing since Ramsey was acquired in a trade back in October. However, talks seem to be going well and it’s expected that the All-Pro corner will be in L.A. for the long haul.

During the Rams’ virtual tailgate on Sunday night, Ramsey checked in from his car – not because he was on his way home from the facility, but because he was out house hunting.

“I’m looking at a few houses so I’m on the way to another,” he said, before adding that he wanted to pop in “to see what y’all were talking about.”

Michael Brockers tried to convince Ramsey to move to Calabasas, but Ramsey said he can’t afford that area … yet.

“Come to Calabasas, dog,” Brockers said. John Johnson, who was also on the video chat, said “that’s out of my paygrade.

“Yeah, I don’t got Calabasas money yet,” Ramsey joked.

Torry Holt, who was hosting the virtual tailgate with Sarina Morales, chimed in too.

“It’s coming, you all good,” Holt said.

“It’s coming, don’t worry about that,” Brockers added.

It was a funny exchange between everyone involved, but it’s a good sign that Ramsey is looking at houses in the area – hopefully an indication that he plans to be in Los Angeles for the foreseeable future.

His contract will end after the 2020 season unless the Rams sign him to an extension before next March, otherwise the franchise tag could be in play.
