Jalen Ramsey apparent sees an opportunity to form the best cornerback tandem in the NFL. With news emerging that Stephon Gilmore skipped the first day of New England Patriots’ mandatory minicamp (and will skip all of minicamp) in an apparent holdout, Ramsey gave Gilmore a shoutout.
The Los Angeles Rams cornerback took to Twitter to recruit the Patriots cornerback, who won defensive player of the year in 2019. It’s likely Gilmore’s frustrations stem from his contract. He is entering the final year of the deal, with only $7.5 million in new money, which ranks just 24th among cornerbacks. That’s a humble sum for one of the NFL’s best. However, Gilmore’s deal will count as $16.3 million against the salary cap, first among cornerbacks, which might be why the Patriots are having a hard time offering more money.
Ramsey, meanwhile, just wants another elite cornerback in his defensive backfield to help the Rams win a Super Bowl. Here’s what he said on Twitter.
Yo @BumpNrunGilm0re what’s good my dawg?

When A.J. Brown went on an all-out push to recruit receiver Julio Jones, it seemed to work out. Perhaps Ramsey can work that same magic.
