The melee at the end of the Los Angeles Rams’ victory over the New York Giants in Week 4 will leave DB Jalen Ramsey lighter in his bank account.
Ramsey got into it with Big Blue WR Golden Tate as personal differences spilled into their professional work. Ramsey was fined $15,625 for the battle. Tate escaped without being docked any bucks.
Ramsey is the father of two young daughters with Tate’s sister, Breanna. Tate was publicly upset on social media after the couple reportedly went through a breakup last year.
Ramsey declined to comment on the incident when asked Friday.
Rams coach Sean McVay addressed the issue with his star defensive back.
“I spoke to him. Just making sure that we’re all on the same page of we can’t allow some of those things to get in the way of whether it ended up being something bad that happened for you or for our football team,” McVay said. “Jalen is a smart guy, there’s a lot of emotions. As far as the specifics, you know, these are grown men, I didn’t get into the ‘he said, she said.’ It was really more along the lines of let’s be smart.”
