Jalen Ramsey, Aaron Donald reached out to Bobby Wagner immediately after release

Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald wasted no time recruiting Bobby Wagner to the Rams after he was released by Seattle

The Rams knew all about Bobby Wagner’s game after facing him twice a year for 10 seasons while he was with the Seahawks. So when he was cut by Seattle, two players wasted no time recruiting him to Los Angeles.

Those players, unsurprisingly, were Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald. Wagner said they reached out to him as soon as he was cut by the Seahawks.

“As soon as I got done when the Seahawks released me, I had Aaron Donald hit me up and Jalen Ramsey hit me up,” he said. “So they were in communications pretty quick. The process for me was just, at this point in my career, I wanted to be at a place that I could be happy and be a place that was close to home. To be able to be in this situation, close to family, it was important to me. but then to add on a winning organization, it was kind of the cherry on top.”

It meant a lot to Wagner to be wanted the way he was by the Rams. He knows they’re an organization that will go all out to win a championship, as they did last year by bringing in Matthew Stafford, Von Miller and Odell Beckham Jr.

“You watch and admire from afar,” he said. “They’re willing to do whatever they can to win. But I think, too, is you have guys like that, players like that that are All-Pros in their own right, reach out to you and want to team up is special. And being a place where they want you to play there and want you to be there, it’s special.”

Wagner is a future Hall of Famer, just like Donald – and probably Ramsey, too. Having three cornerstone defenders on the field at once will make the Rams one of the scariest teams to go up against each week.
