Jalen McMillan tweaks hamstring at Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice

Jalen McMillan suffered an injury on Friday that could keep him out of this weekend’s contest against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jalen McMillan’s status on Sunday is suddenly in a bit of doubt.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles told the media Friday that the Washington Huskies alum tweaked his hamstring in practice and is now expected to be questionable for the team’s game with the Philadelphia Eagles.

McMillan is the second of Washington’s trio of wide receivers from the 2023 roster to land on an NFL injury report this week. Rome Odunze has also been limited for the Chicago Bears with a hip injury.

The rookie has been Tampa Bay’s third receiver this season behind veterans Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. McMillan has 3 catches for 59 yards and a touchdown for the Buccaneers and was the first of the Huskies trio – he, Odunze, and Ja’Lynn Polk of the New England Patriots – to reach the end zone in the NFL.

McMillan could potentially join Huskies alum Vita Vea on the inactive list for the Buccaneers if he’s unable to play on Sunday. Vea missed last week’s game with a knee injury and has been practicing in a limited fashion this week.

Tampa Bay also has former Huskies Cade Otton, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, Greg Gaines, and Devin Culp on the roster. The Eagles’ only Huskies alum is wide receiver John Ross, who is on the practice squad.
