Jalen McDaniels to use All-Star break wisely to stay in rhythm for Sixers

Jalen McDaniels wants to use the All-Star break to keep momentum building for the Philadelphia 76ers.

PHILADELPHIA — Jalen McDaniels was acquired by the Philadelphia 76ers at the deadline, and he played in three games before the All-Star break. He has made an impact in all three games on both ends.

On offense, he has been a slasher to the basket and shown touch on the 3-pointer. On defense, he has been active. He had four points and four rebounds in Wednesday’s win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he was on the floor for the final defensive possessions.

As he heads into the break, he plans to work to not lose his rhythm while also taking some time to relax.

“It’s really important just trying to stay — you feel me?” McDaniels started. “It’s a five-day trip, maybe longer so I’m not trying to take all the days off and come back sluggish in a different form and all that. I’m just trying to stay in the gym, which I already do, and just keep my routine the same.”

Essentially, McDaniels is going to relax and breathe, but he’s going to be in the gym learning about his new team as much as he can ahead of the stretch run after the All-Star break.

“I’m gonna be chilling, but I’m definitely getting my work in for sure,” he added. “Just shooting and stuff like that just stay in rhythm.”

The Sixers are looking for McDaniels to play a big role for their bench unit into the playoffs.
