CAMDEN, N.J. — The Philadelphia 76ers are about to embark on a difficult stretch in which seven of their next eight games are on the road. They might have to go into battle in some of these games missing a key bench piece.
Jalen McDaniels, who suffered a right hip contusion in Sunday’s win over the Washington Wizards, was unable to practice on Tuesday before the Sixers begin a three-game road trip.
Philadelphia faces the Cleveland Cavaliers and their elite perimeter scorers, Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland, on Wednesday. While McDaniels wasn’t able to practice, coach Doc Rivers expects he will be available against the Cavs.
“It’s nothing serious we don’t think,” said Rivers. “We expect him to be ready for tomorrow, but we don’t know yet. So we’ll take that, but there’s no way we were gonna let him practice today. We didn’t do much anyway, today.”
Jalen McDaniels didn’t practice today with the right hip issue, but Doc Rivers does expect him to play tomorrow in Cleveland. He just isn’t 100% sure yet. #Sixers
