Jalen Hurts’ 2024 regular season is over, as the Eagles are resting their quarterback, running back Saquon Barkley, and a host of other key starters and contributors.
During his Wednesday press conference, head coach Nick Sirianni confirmed that Hurts is still in the concussion protocol and won’t play in Week 18.
Nick Sirianni says Jalen Hurts remains in concussion protocol and “It’s going to be tough for him to make it this week.”
#Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is still in concussion protocol, per Nick Sirianni. A decision hasn’t been made on who will start at QB on Sunday in light of Kenny Pickett’s rib injury. Could be Tanner McKee.

Will see how much, if anything, he can do at practice, but becoming more difficult to see him being ready for Sunday’s game vs. the Cowboys. pic.twitter.com/n2SrwIa08M— Jeff McLane (@Jeff_McLane) December 26, 2024
Hurts was 1-4 passing for 11 yards and had three carries for 41 yards before exiting for the blue medical tent against the Commanders two weeks ago.
In Week 17, Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee both tossed touchdown passes as Philadelphia dominated Dallas 41-7 at Lincoln Financial Field. Pickett is nursing broken ribs, and Sunday’s finale could see McKee get the start, with Ian Books as the backup quarterback.
